HSRCongress2023

Towards Innovation and Entrepreneurship - Challenges from Research to Clinics

Event Location

Faculdade de Ciências da Saúde, Covilhã, Portugal

Covilhã is a wonderful city in the interior region of Portugal and an example of a “mountain city”, with the expression of a vast industrial tradition based on modern and contemporary times. Situated on the slopes of Serra da Estrela, facing east, this city is located at an altitude of about 700 meters and is the most important urban center in the area.

Parks, gardens, great houses and many churches demonstrate the region's religious fervor, presenting pleasant and interesting heritage legacies of the county.

The region's gastronomy is very rich and famous throughout the country, including the famous Serra cheese made from sheep's milk, homemade sausages, and succulent dishes such as the traditional red bean soup or lamb stew, among many other specialties, such as honey from Serra da Estrela.

Covilhã’s history filled past and modern energy result in plenty of places to visit, such as the Cheese Museum, the Wool Museum, the Santa Maria Church, as well as Jardim do Lago and Carpinteira Bridge.
